I am fascinated with the connection of fire, food, and clay and how, by using all three, the act of making food transcends the need to simply eat but becomes an experience layered in a relationship of learning.

My work is predominantly utilitarian though the process may differ depending on the effect I am trying to achieve. I will use stoneware or Earthenware depending on the type of cooked ware being created and which version best suites the purpose of the pot.

I am interested in pottery that is intriguing; taking the mundane functionality of an item and elevating it through beauty and use.

The purpose for my work is selfish in nature, as I am seeking lovely and functional pots to use to cook, serve, and prep with.  I love the relationship of food and clay and that pottery becomes a conduit to further enjoy and celebrate the act of cooking and eating together as a community.
